The City Council of Donostia / San Sebastian, through DonostiaTIK, had the need to disseminate to citizens the geographic information produced in the city from a single access point or geoportal.
Improving external dissemination was also intended to help optimize sharing in the organization of geographic information.
This is no less important, since the inertia in local government is still to work in a departmental way (information silos) and in alphanumeric mode, without exploiting the geographic variable.
Geograma has supported us throughout the entire process of building GeoDonostia, from initial decision making to the development of map transformation and publication processes. Thanks to their contribution we have managed, without requiring manual processes, to offer users updated municipal geographic information.

The City Council of Donostia-San Sebastián trusted Geograma for the design and development of this geoportal.
GeoDonostia integrates data, metadata, services and geographic information at a local level, complying with a series of interoperability conditions and in accordance with the legal frameworks in force.
This makes it easier for all users (citizens, companies and institutions) to locate, identify, select and access the data and services produced.
The GIS solution is part of a collaboration agreement with the Basque Government, where its structure and part of its components are deployed in GeoEukadi.
The dissemination of the city’s geographic information, maintained and updated, through the GeoDonostia portal as a single point of access, has a major impact on both transparency and efficiency. All citizens, including companies and public personnel, have access to all the city’s geographic information.
The data catalog and service are linked to the city’s open data portal. Therefore, the City Council of Donostia / San Sebastian increases its transparency, making public data available to all actors in society: citizens, companies and institutions, so that they can exploit them to create services and develop applications.
